We are now inviting applications for the following position: Project Officer (Site) Responsibilities: To assist the Project Director and Project Manager in the implementation of the project “Hakka Life Experience Village at Lai Chi Wo” in NE New Territories as a model of village revival.

The main responsibilities include: •Assist the Project Director and Manager to oversee house restoration works with strong focus on managing the contractors' works on site. This includes involvement in the understanding of the design/ Shop drawings/ method statements/ specifications. Assume a role in Quality Control, involve and give input in to deliver a quality product. •Liaise and co-ordinate with consultants, contractors, government department, utility companies as well as internal stakeholders to resolve issues with an objective to ensure compliance to regulations and statutory requirements so that relevant licences or services can be obtained. •Supervise construction work including workmanship, safety, housekeeping & works progress check compliance with contract documents and approved method statements, and specifications. •Check and verify invoices submitted by contractors and consultants and coordinate with project QS. Offer comments on method statements and material submissions, as well as shop drawings etc. •Report on site problems, progress, quality of workmanship, etc. Assist the Project Manager on projects progress update and reports. •Co-ordinate and liaise with other relevant parties, keep record and verify, handover work and resolve villagers’ enquires and complaints, etc. •To carry out other duties as directed which are needed to achieve the overall “village revival” objectives

Requirements: •A degree or higher diploma or above from a tertiary institution in Hong Kong or equivalent (majoring in a relevant subject of Architecture, Building Studies, Heritage Conservation, Project Management, Construction Management or equivalent qualification); •3 years or more experience of site supervision work (full time) preferably related to the job functions and responsibilities as mentioned, perfectly with conservation works experience •Demonstrated passion about Hong Kong’s rural culture, landscape, built heritage and natural habitats •Frequent travel to remote sites is necessary •Good inter-personal and co-ordination skills, hands-on and attend to details •Proficient in both written English and Chinese We offer a 6-month contract, renewal of contract subject to mutual agreement and funding availability.
